What size should I buy?

Choose stall sizes based on the following:

  1. The size & breed of the horse
    1. General rule of thumb.  Ponies to medium sized riders fit comfortably in a 10' x 10'
    2. A full grown thoroughbred, etc would need a 12' x 12'
    3. Draft horses a minimum of 12' x 12', preferably a 12' x 14'
    4. Also mare and foal stalls 12' x 14' or larger
  2. Temperment
    1. A lively horse with unruly nature generally needs more room, whereas a quiet natured horse can be quite comfortable in a 10' x 10' stall
  3. preference
    1. We generally don't argue with a customer!  If you want a 20' x 20' stall or an 8' x 8' stall, we will build it for you.

What's the difference in Material?

Horse Stall Materials:

ALL stalls are available in steel and aluminum.

Steel is the lower prices material.  Although it receives the best powder coating available, it is still susceptible to corrosion over years of heavy usage (because of natural scratches and weathering).

Aluminum is a bit more pricey, but with our specially formulated aluminum alloy, we can offer strength equal to steel, and you get corrosion resistance to more than justify the cost.

Exterior Barn Doors Materials:

Only available in Aluminum.

Elite Exterior Horse Barn Door

We have discontinued manufacturing these in steel for various reasons.*  For several years now we have been manufacturing these with our specially formulated aluminum alloy with very positive field testing and equally positive feedback from our customers. 

Our exterior barn doors are very attractive.  We guarantee a door that will last a lifetime as each door comes with a no-rust or rot guarantee!

Each door is lightweight and handles with ease. All exterior barn doors have fully welded seams with no screw heads protruding.

2 Door Styles to choose from

Elite vs Economy...

Elite Door Styles:

The main difference in elite vs. economy is the door panel and hinges.

Elite doors have a beaded heavy duty tongue and groove aluminum panel with (heavy duty welded on hinges for dutch doors)

Economy Door Styles:

Economy door panels have painted sheet glued onto plyboard backer.  Dutch doors have bolted-on hinges.

Note: All dutch doors come fully pre-hung, ready to install into your rough opening.

 

We also build exterior sliding doors in any size up to 10' wide x 16' high.

All doors are available with 1/4" tempered safety glass in top.  Special arch top or any special design you can come up with, we will be happy to quote.

 


*Note: the various reasons for discontinuing steel exterior doors are as follows:

  1. the weight of these doors make theme hard to operate, creating unneeded stress on the mounting hardware and on the operator.  Aluminum doors are less than half the weight of steel
  2. Rust!  There's no getting away from it.  If steel gets the finish scratched it will rust!  ALuminum will not rust or rot!
